They are very naive here regarding wild animals. Not uncommon to let people take pictures while patting  tigers and lions etc.

Elephants are tortured from they are newborn in Thailand   not many who know that ?  in the most cruel evil way - ! try to search  -   maybe thats why the poor animal  - reacted

animals are treated very bad in Thailand  - but most dont  want to hear about ..

its terrible..  newborn elephant babies are beated with metal hooks every day   - strangled with ropes chains  - not feeded.  just to brake them  - this is why the elphants allways do " funny" things in these elephant shows- !    evil people. .

An earlier settlement would have been much cheaper with minimal  legal fees.

I suspect their insurance doesn't cover them for elephant attacks, so there is probably no money to compensate the widow with especially given the collapse of Tourism during the pandemic. Maybe they can offer to sign the resort over to her and walk away, better than being forced to sell up and let the lawyers take the lions share.

Mess with nature you’ll get what’s coming - ask Steve Irwin who built a career annoying wildlife and eventually got what was coming to him.

Sumalee said she wants the lawsuit to set a social example to prevent this kind of incident from happening again.

So if she wins will be donating all the proceeds gained to charity 😉
