On a trial basis, Indonesia’s resort island Bali will start allowing foreign travellers to enter without undergoing a quarantine. A senior minister says the new travel policy will start March 14, or sooner, depending on the Covid-19 situation in Bali. The Indonesian government will extend the travel scheme across the country if the trial is successful. To enter Bali from overseas, foreign travellers must be fully vaccinated against the coronavirus and show proof of payment for at least four nights at a hotel, according to Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Panjaita. Just like Thailand’s Test & Go entry scheme, foreign travellers entering Bali must undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival and stay at a hotel while they wait for their results. Once test results come back negative for the virus, travellers can do activities on the island, but “under health protocols,” the official says. Travellers must undergo another PCR test on the third day of their stay.

Trial basis... to conclude a fiasco.

Oh yes, Indonesia/Bali is, usually, even easier to stay long term. They only wanna see an income of 1500 US, not 65k/month  or 800k on a bank or combination of both.

And have to hire a Indonesian maid, 100-200US/month, plus health insurance, about 100-200/month. Olus some other things, you need anyway.

Just there 's this 55 years of age thing! But that will go away, sometime after Covid, "I guess"!

After 5 years (or 2, if married to local), you can get permanent residency!

Will become  more popular with Aussies, I think, in the future. As long they aren't already married to a Thai 😇

Basically same as Thailand (well you need 4 nights hotel instead of 1 for Thailand)... and "under health protocols", I guess that means mask at all time. And what happens if you test positive (well we all know)? Why do they bother really? Anyone fancy to spend their only 2/3/4 weeks holiday yearly in these conditions? They might as well do nothing until it is a proper opening which THAT is not.

The thing is that the authoritarian bureaucratic regimes of SE Asia always enforce mesures that populations here are used to follow without any mean to go against or even criticise, not sure how they even think that the same would be accepted by westerners. So they will not come. So it is pointless.
