Fanta Posted February 22, 2022 #166719 Share Posted February 22, 2022 Of course this guy will be indicted. The only reason they are holding the press conference is to announce the indictment otherwise it would be a “No comment” day. 1 Link to comment https://talk.thethaiger.com/topic/11491-news-forum-prosecutors-decide-today-if-officer-who-fatally-struck-pedestrian-will-stand-trial/#findComment-166719 Share on other sites

PohTou Posted February 22, 2022 #166741 Share Posted February 22, 2022 In Laos I found it dangerous to stop for pedestrians crossing behind the Morning Market, because other vehicles would just swing around me and keep going. Fortunately, nobody was hit that time so I just kept going and did not stop on other occasions. The pedestrians had to wait until the road was clear before crossing the uncontrolled section of road. Haole.TH Posted February 22, 2022 #166759 Share Posted February 22, 2022 The bus driver hitting the motorcyclist that happened after this first incident has been charged. The bus driver has been charged with reckless driving causing injury. Why is it taking so long to charge this off-duty police officer? Like most countries, the police bring charges, the prosecution then decides whether it will indict and bring it to trial. The difference between being indicted and charged relies on who files the charges. “Being charged” with a crime means the prosecutor filed charges. An indictment means the grand jury filed charges against the defendant.
