couldn’t care less. everybody in Saudi travels via other gulf countries airlines to get to Thailand anyway. Cannot drink alcohol on saudia. big change is that Saudi’s would no longer need their govt permission to enter Thailand.

Unbelievable.... Average spending by tourists from the Middle East (notably Egypt & Kuwait) is about THB 80,000 per visit, so THB 100,000 for Saudi  Arabian tourists seems to be on the optimistic (but not impossible) side. According to the MOTS database, 2019 had 344 Saudi  Arabian visitors per month. The optimism behind the goal/projection that that number will rise to 16,666 visitors pm on average for this entire year (even ignoring the fact that direct flights won't be available before May) is only surpassed by its implausibility.

They are desperate for money?

A murder suspect Government allowing Muslim Men to travel to Pattaya?

what for
They are not supposed to drink Alcohol?

No Bar girls?

Not allowed to get massages?

Not allowed to show their womens faces in public?

Is this so Saudi Men can break all their laws outside of their own country and feel good about themselves?

Hypocrytes going to a savoury place like Pattaya?

If they were going to other beautiful places in Thailand maybe 🤔 I could believe they are coming to enjoy Thailand v beaches?

But Pattaya?

really?

They forget their religion, country and ancestors when they are out of Saudi😀

saudi arabia is undergoing the biggest social change in its history at the moment.

It has a forward looking well educated young population.

don't be surprised to see bars opening in hotels soon, probably along the  lines of the UAE and Qatar.

young saudi arabian women are now working as flight attendants on the national airline and being trained to drive trains etc.young saudis are taking up new proffesions quickly and have high disposable incomes.

The tourism potential both in and outbound are huge.

It would be foolish for anybody involved in the global travel and tourism industry to ignore such a huge potential new market.

the thai tourism industry could do very well out of this if the country can market itself well.

I have worked in saudi many times over the last 4 decades and the changes over the last 4 years has changed the country almost beyond recognition in a positive way.

I'm perfectly aware of the issues at high government level within the country and am in no way commenting on those in this posting.

Currently based there, and so many of my colleagues can't wait to get over to Thailand. And it's not just single guys doing their thing, but guys with families too. There's been a lot of talk about it in the office and they're all happy about the change of events.
