Pattaya . . . kid-friendly?

I don't know about kid-friendly, but it gets the 'Oxymoron of the day' award . . . without question!

Pattaya is a big city much bigger than its red light district.

I mean not really, unless you want to be staying way out by the highway

Anywhere near the beach and there will be a huge beer bar complex

We stay at the Dusit Thani sometimes, and that is far from walking street, yet still a couple massive beer bar complexes right around there

Still doesn't make it "kid friendly". The problem with Pattaya is it doesn't really have a red light district. Pretty much the entire city is one giant red light district. It reminds me of when Vegas tried to become kid friendly. It failed for two main reasons. One you really can't keep your kids from seeing what it is you don't want them to see anywhere in the city. Second at it's heart, Vegas (like Pattaya) is something that's just not compatible with a kid friendly vacation. With so many wonderful places to take a family in Thailand, why would you choose Pattaya?

We agree on Pattaya and actually I agree Vegas isn't really a place for kids

But I also wouldn't say there isn't anywhere you can't take your kid in Vegas
