This coming Wednesday, February 16, you can’t buy alcohol because Thailand, along with other Southeast Asian countries, will mark the Buddhist holy day of Makha Bucha Day. The day commemorates Buddha gathering with his first 1,250 disciples in the bamboo grove where he lived. Makha Bucha is celebrated on the full moon day of the third lunar month in Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. On this day, Thais will make merit at their local temples. Alcohol bans are not big news. Once the funny temporary alcohol sales restrictions are lifted, that would be newsworthy. As if it made any difference if I'd be able to to buy my bottle of Singha already at 16:35 instead of having to wait until 17:01.

In the list of avoided behaviors, I didn’t see driving too fast or recklessly without regard for themselves or others. Maybe that amulet they carry covers all the potential people in an accident? I’m not sure how that works 😅

Just told my GF there will be no sexual misconduct on Wednesday. She's gutted 😅

What constitutes ‘misconduct’ in some countries it’s legal to marry a goat !

I wonder if there are guidelines ?
