'Female body' found along hiking trail is actually a 'life-sized sex doll'

She might have lost her shoes, but the life-sized sex doll now dubbed 'Selena' is doing just fine. Georgia police recently responded to a call of a female body found along a hiking trail - only to find a discarded life-sized sex doll discarded.The positive outcome prompted the Jones County Sheriff's Office to joke about the status of their 'victim' they named Selena, having fun with the case that ended up being less gruesome than anticipated. 

Georgia deputies say they responded to the forest area on the Hitchiti National Forest trail on February 3 and saw what appeared to be the body of a woman wearing white socks.

At first glace, the blonde-haired doll - which was covered in dirt and wearing blue shorts and a pink tube top - appeared somewhat life-like. But deputies quickly realized the 'body' was actually a life-sized sex doll. Jones County Deputy Matthew Dennis found the model number and collected the doll as evidence. 

 

 

'The first part of 2022 has sure been busy,' the department posted on Facebook.  The department shared that Selena is 'a little under the weather' but 'has been having a nice day and is expected to make a full recovery.' The department detailed its response to the call in the post. 'Yesterday afternoon, our investigators responded to what was believed to be a body located on a trail in Hitchiti National Forest. Initial responding deputies observed what appeared to be the body of a deceased female wearing white socks,' Sheriff R.N. 'Butch' Reece writes.

'Our crack team of investigators arrived on scene, along with Deputy Matthew Dennis, who quickly recognized the body to actually be a life-sized doll, complete with accessories. 

'Deputy Dennis located the model number (which was very concerning for me), Reece continues.

'Never missing the opportunity, the crime scene was appropriately processed and the evidence was collected and brought to the Sheriff's Office. The victim, now named Selena, is a little under the weather, but she has been having a nice day and is expected a make a full recovery,' they add. 

Despite the joke, the office ended the post appreciating the fact that the call turned out to be a case of littering and assured Selena's owner that their DNA would not be collected but asked them not to litter.  'In all seriousness, thank God for small blessings in that this just turned out to be a case of littering,' Reece writes. 

'If you know Selena or are responsible for her whereabouts, rest assured no DNA was collected and you are safe. But in the future, please make sure to dispose of your items in a responsible way.' 

The post of the doll went viral and has garnered more than 39,000 likes; 35,000 shares and 7,500 comments. (A typical post on the sheriff's office page appears to get, on average, several hundred likes.) 

People joined in on the humor when commenting on the hilarity of the situation. 

'Poor girl. She looks like she’s had a rough couple of days,' Michelle Whitson said.  

'That was a wife demanding her hubby dump his side piece for sure!' Roy Rogers wrote. 

 'I think Selena was having a rough night!' Missy Jaindl Whittington commented. 

'So was it cleaned up and sent home with Deputy Dennis?' Josh Cox joked.  

The Jones County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com for a comment. 

The crime rate in Jones County is 0.0276 per 1,000 residents during a standard year, according to Crime Grade.

Unsure if it fit into the 'LGBTIQA+' (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual) community but Selena is definitely PRO noun.
