Never released as a single but played often on the radio from as early as 1968 and is said to have launched the career of the singer.

Re-recorded in 1972 with a slightly different arrangement and an accompanying band  has appeared on a couple of live albums since and frequently appears in live stage shows despite a huge repertoire of other material.

Was played, by the co-author, at the funeral of  Ryan White who contracted AIDS in 1984 from a blood transfusion and died 6 years later aged 19.

Ryan became a poster child for AIDS/HIV and a celebrity when parents and teachers protested at his return to school.
