Looking for help on how to play Thai Chess and what are your thoughts on it?

I only understand that Thai chess is a variant of the proper chess game which, over sixty-odd years of trying to master, I'm still not beyond beginner level. A brilliant game, nonetheless, and if the Thai version is along similar lines, I can understand your wanting some info.

I can only suggest giving some of the online Thai chess apps a try. If they're anything like as good as some of the online 'proper' chess games, they must be worth trying and you'll soon be able to decide whether the Thai game is worth sticking with.

Thank you King Cotton and i love playing chess and always enjoy a tactical battle.  I have had the pleasure of watching a couple of Thai chess matches in recent times and will take up your advice and try some online apps to play.

Until reading your post, I wouldn't have known about it. Had a look on Wiki and saw that there were even more lesbians.

I was a regular player back in the UK. Played for a couple of clubs. My Grandfather was an area champion. The only person that I play against now is my eleven year old daughter.

Would it be possible to start up a TT chess club?

No interest only normal chess, chess.com is well worth the money. I think you have to be drunk to play the Thai version

There was a thriving chess scene in Udon Thani some years back. Main day of play was on a Saturday.

It was also very popular with young Lao ladies, who were keen to know the moves. They were not quick learners though. Don't know why they bothered. Played a few games with them. It was all over in a few minutes.
