Legally, we can’t force you to do it, but just do it, okay? That seems to be the message from Thailand’s Public Health Minister in relation to the wearing of face masks. According to a report from the National News Bureau of Thailand, Anutin Charnvirakul has confirmed there’s no legal mandate for the wearing of face masks. However, he says people should continue to wear them to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Anutin was responding to warnings from the CCSA that those who refuse to wear a mask could be fined. He says his ministry and other related bodies have […]

But didn't they make Prayut pay a fine for not wearing his mask?

If it's not in the law, then bye bye mask. Only maybe indoors so people won't freak out. But certainly not outside.

he is one of the people who have monstrous nerve and who fall back on their feet like Trump, BoJo... these people are also very intelligent.

Peoples have a responsibility to entrust their future to people like them.

Thailand has the strictest mask rules in the world. If only the guidelines were that you could take the mask off when lying on the beach socially distanced from others or when hiking in nature, that would make all the difference for tourists. Be reasonable about it, I totally get the need for masks indoors and in crowded outdoor places like markets but this sounds like too much. And the Thailand heat is not something Europeans are used to, certainly not when wearing a mask outdoors in 34 degrees!

Have you personally been reprimanded for not wearing a mask on the beach or when hiking?

I highly doubt there are police on hiking trails giving out fines.....

We went to Mexico with pretty much the exact same mask mandates as Thailand

We wore masks walking around retail areas, even when outside, like an outside mall

We did not wear masks on the beach and certainly not while driving, even though you technically have to

My friend is in Patong at the moment and says many tourists aren't wearing masks when outside

As always, use your judgement..............

Provinces can relax the rules as they see fit - and they have, for example in Khao San Road and Phuket in set zones.

The article is simply incredibly bad mis-reporting.

You have to ask if the article was written by reporters or bloggers ? The line is thinly masked these days ….
