News Forum - Bank of Scotland brands Thai wife ‘criminal’
I don't think there would be many issues on the Thai side...........my wife never had any involving her son and she has had my last name for 12 years now. We got married in Thailand and she changed her name the next day But I realize you were in a different circumstance On another note...........I think a fiancee visa is the dumbest thing countries do! It promotes quick marriages to people who may not be ready to marriage each other(not saying in your case) -

News Forum - Pattaya records yet another unwanted suicide statistic
I think that’s very true. Thankfully, I only know of one person who did such a thing and that was in Rayong. A few years back He had been bankrolling a local woman running a bar. Over the period of around 5 years he was stupid enough to think she would change if he did just one more thing for her. Another car. A bike for her son. A rebuild of mums house. Paying off some old car debt, upgrading the bar. You name it he was continually drip feeding money to her. After 5 years he was running low in funds and also he discovered she had a Thai man on the go for some years. Her trips to see “grandma” turned out not to be true. After threatening to leave and cut her off, he ended up at the bottom of the condo block. Suicide? Murder? Accident? Who knows. But he’s dead and she’s got another guy on the go. It’s the same story all over again. Sad to see but I also struggle to know who to blame. The horrible heartless bitch. Or the stupid low self esteem foreigner?? -

News Forum - 110 bent immigration cops busted in visa scam swoop
Yes I agree and spot on with the figures for illegal visas. I know at least 6 guys who do this, even though at least 3 of them have more than enough money to do it legally. They simply say they can’t be bothered dealing with immigration and doing 90 day reporting. The money they pay includes covering 90 reports. It will be interesting to see what they do to those people who bought the illegal visas? -

News Forum - 110 bent immigration cops busted in visa scam swoop
That's true. But many pensioners get less than 65k a month income, so they pay the 15-20-25k or whatever to go the illegal route. They should be careful. What worked in the past, might not work in the future. -

What are Health Services like in your country?
You seem fixated on 32k like it means something. Let's break those numbers down for you. After tax and national insurance you're left with about 25k, so just over 2k a month. Two bedroom flat London area, and close to runs at about £1000-1500 a month. Let's say it's £1250. You're now left with £750 for the month. Minus council tax £150 Minus utilities £150 We're now down to £400 for the month, or about £90 week. Minus travel costs, public transport, for sure a car is unaffordable, £30 for the week. We're now down to £60 for the week and that's our money for food and anything else that comes up. And this is presuming there are no kids in the picture!! About 2500 baht a week to live on. I couldn't do that in Thailand let alone the UK! But according to you it's plenty. And bearing in mind that many nurses earn a lot less than 32k a year, it's no wonder they're struggling. Walk a mile in a nurse's shoes before you start criticising them.
