Hopefully I’ve spelt Isaan properly. 10am and the party has started already. A group of the elder ladies in the village have got together.

Is it just me or is it normal for shouting out loud when sitting in their own space. I’ve never ever witnessed anything like it, god love their husbands 😂

Theyre in the next house I think you could hear them in the next village.
My question is, is raising you’re voice to show power because they’re all sitting bed each other?

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

Can't say that I've seen or heard that. Groups seem to be noisy in the Cities, but if my Thai lot are anything to go by, they talk over each other,  but not particularly loudly.

What is obvious is that the sound of Thailand is the electric circular saw.  If  you have not got one running, or some other loud electric tool,  then you can't call yourself Thai

Thankfully the battery ran out of the electric saw. 😂 I just don’t understand why they shout when they’re sitting beside someone if it happened on a plane they’re be a big problem

It's quite normal, as they all talk at once.....🥴

Christ almighty put a bunch of women together probably in any country but I’ve never ever experienced this in my life. Agreed they all talk at once so probably that’s it, one trying to talk over the other. My last trip to Isaan unless there’s no parties 😂❤️🙏

I think they have "Bass Boost" mode on most of the time.

You can spell Isaan anyway you like - the Thais do, there is no direct translation. Isan, Isaan, Issan, Isarn....seen them all.

I remember seeing a road sign for Lahansai in Buriram spelt as Rahansai...

I don't believe it about power it is, as Transam said, "normal". On a car journey, with my missus and her friend sat in the back, I have had to remind them that they are sitting 2 feet apart, not 20 metres and can they turn the volume down as I am trying to concentrate on driving. That is usually a temporary fix as they get the hump and don't speak at all for 10 mins.....then they start chatting again and the volume gradually rises again!

I agree about signs, if someone is paying for them they should check the spelling beforehand. Si Racha on 1 sign Sri Racha on the next. Burger bars Berger it always makes me smile. Thankfully leaving tomorrow and the volume has returned to normal. I think thai whiskey has a lot to do with the volume 😂
