Not sure about the'wellness sandbox' and what that really means?? Yet again the Thailand government has succeedded in confusing tourist on planning a trip to Thailand.

It's simple....hope onto the Philippine embassy website and find out that all you have to do is bring you 'bucket and spade' and enjoy thier beaches fresh off the plane....with no 'sand boxes' insight!

What are these potential “wellness” tourists supposed to be doing in Thailand besides spending 2x what the average tourist spends?

Getting well, perhaps? 😁

These retreats cost a hell of a lot more than what the average tourist would ever spend, more like 4x more and well above my pay grade ... Hop Inn @ 500thb serves me well(ness) 😉

TAT's been polishing their crystal ball again.

They'll reach that target easily when half of the tourists will test positive on the covid tests and end up at a "wellness hospital".

Partner with Marriott, Hyatt (or other resort devolopers) and build a gleaming new highend wellness centric resort property designed from the inside-out to promote wellness, and maybe someone shows up to spend a bunch on money while staying "on property". Retooling existing 25+ year old properties with Peleton's in every room probably won't do it.

So why are you commenting if you don't bother to know what the Wellness Sandbox is?

Most wealthy wellness tourists are not interested in spending 2 days filling out a load of forms to enter Thailand. Nor are they interested in being locked up in a state quarantine facility at their own cost in case they test positive. They might prefer visiting another country without all the hassle.

The "Wellness" community in the United States is one of the largest organized anti-vaccination group. Not sure how many will be traveling to Thailand with the vaccination requirement.

Is this the latest idea from TAT - boxing sand? Is it similar to shadow boxing?
Or perhaps they'll issue tourists with cardboard boxes to put the sand in?

I know people who go to Hua Hin for three months every year for their wellness, they are escaping the thick choking smoke in Chiang Mai each year caused by the locals and neighbouring countries burning their old farm crops.

"Wellness" tourists in Thailand may participate in activities such as yoga and meditation retreats, spa treatments, and traditional healing practices like Thai massage and herbal medicine. They may also visit health-focused facilities such as fitness centers and wellness centers.

They can also explore local culture and participating in cultural activities such as cooking classes, traditional dance classes and temple visits. Additionally, they may also engage in outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, and swimming. They are expected to be more interested in activities that promote health and well-being, and to be willing to spend more than the average tourist.
