We were given fault hopes when through Hua Hin Hospital, we spent hours waiting to register for a vaccine jab.  We were given an appointment for the first jab on July 14, but 5 days later, we were informed that appointment is cancel due to shortage of vaccines.  The hospital does not know when the vaccines will be available.  So disappointed!!

Via my GP, I am registered and meant to be in one of the earlier groups as i suffer from high blood pressure and am considered to be in one of the at risk groups. Beginning to have serious doubts over the rollout and yet to know of anyone that I actually know getting vaccinated.

Ha-ha, and a fair question, JimLimu!

A GP is the UK abbreviation for General Practitioner, i.e. the personal/family doctor that nearly all UK residents are registered with. They 'practice' their skills from designated health centres, previously though more coldly referred to as clinics, which are to be found in most towns and even villages throughout the UK. It's an excellent provision and the accepted prior step to hospitalisation, should the GP see fit to refer an individual for more serious attention.

JimLimU...on Wednesday June 16th I registered for Covid vaccination at Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital.  There was no one in the reception area except for two nurses.  The nurses did not ask for any additional information such as age or underlying conditions.  They copied my passport and PKK Hospital ID card and told me I would be contacted with a queue #.  On Thursday the 17th  I received a text asking that I return to the hospital.  I was handed a queue notification certificate with a #12682.   The nurse said 'nothing for sure but estimate around three months' for shot #1.

July 1st now. Where do I sign up for the 3400THB 2 dose vaccine through private hospitals?

Or any chance of an earlier shot?

Not just the one $64K question, but two of 'em! Check back thro' the Thaiger News threads and you'll find the one with the info you're seeking . . . maybe.

Got AZ two weeks ago in Bkk, booked on Mor Prom app with tax number. Nobody in front, no waiting and 6 others doing the 30 min rest time. Hardly looked like a mass roll out.

Why pay up front for something they have not even ordered yet? I think it's unethical to ask for payment now. I registered with Thonburi health group but got AZ now so wont bother with it. They asked for 1200 baht this week via line.

It's immoral and unethical. The government GPO has not even placed the order yet and no doubt waiting for the private hospitals to pay the bill first. They in turn are asking people for payment now. For a vaccine which won't be delivered this year. Moderna's order book extends into 2022.

Good luck with getting a refund from the hospitals. In other places they would call this scam...

In Bangkok I am signed up at a local hospital....self paid...prepaid, and as I understand it that Moderna vaccine which I have paid approx 100USD for, will not be avail until early 2022.

My 60+ year old father received his first AZ shot in Bangkok last week, and he's scheduled to receive his next shot in September. We registered through the thailandintervac site while it was still operational. Didn't have to pay anything at all.

I am now considering a 'fly and jab' to USA..Interesting the most expensive part of the trip are the expenses for getting back into Thailand.

You may find that to be futile when they tell you the jab you received in the US is now out of it's effective range 6 mos later, because variant Godzilla Tyrannosaurus Rex is now the latest threat.

Sarcasm noted...I am in the .002%

Then sit tight, you can have my Pfizer shot when they arrive. Just go in and tell them you're name is Vance.

So I take it that the nurses/doctors are giving informed consent about the experimental nature of these spike protein injections ( sinovac and sinopharm being the exception of the spike protein injection)?

OR, are people just being lined up as cattle, not being given the insert to read and make an informed decision?

My wife booked me in through the govt app, a few days before it was withdrawn. She insists I still have an appointment in August. I believe it when I feel the needle.

I was refused a covid test last week and a vaccination at the tambon office, because I'm a foreigner.
