Police in the Chalong sub-district of Phuket found the drowned body of a 21 year old woman in the pond of a housing estate yesterday evening. After being notified that a woman had fallen into the pond and drowned, the police rushed to the scene. They, along with a diving team, then spent an hour searching the waters for the woman. How do they know she fell in and didn't go for a swim?

I have always been concerned how few Thais are taught to swim. I don't see municipal pools, so kids can learn to swim at school age. It's always struck me as odd, that a country with water around it, doesn't have a swimming program.....hmmm maybe I could start one
