As the crop was finishing the aroma drew elephants  and so this dedicated farmer spent best effort to distract them ?   Only question left is did he get to stash the product , move it on, or was/is there a happy herd of elephants? I once watched a large group of  villagers in Nepal attempting to drag a very stoned sleeping female rhino out of a "hemp" crop .
