When it comes to a stay at a Thailand field hospital, there’s no VIP section, according to the country’s Public Health Minister. For some who are not eligible for home isolation, it’s either a field hospital, where the stay is free, but the beds are made of cardboard, or a hospital, which can be expensive. Along with cardboard beds, some field hospitals are in facilities like gymnasiums where there are no windows or central air conditioning. Photos posted by the government show a fan by each bed along with a pack of water bottles. One person told The Thaiger that […]

NO VIP field hospital to suit HISO standards, being treated like common farlung and have to pay.

What's the world comin to.

He urged home isolation and community quarantine to be the main treatment processes for patients with mild symptoms.

Think a lot of Thais are doing this regardless of who says what, to avoid those field hospitals.

The field hospitals are now really only for those unable to quarantine at home, for whatever reason - generally because 'home' is a multiple occupancy room.

Locally, those who can't quarantine at home or in 'community quarantine' but aren't hospitalised are quarantined in one of the nurses' accommodation blocks which has single, double and family rooms.

It looks like the 'quarantine block' here is a long term move.

If it is Omicron then they all are likely to have it anyway.

Can I book a double in the Nurses accommodation block, one with a nurse still resident thanks.😆

It's a separate building, sadly - and I'm not sure if the male nurses would be your type, although there's a katoey who's very friendly😂!

There are three separate accommodation buildings, a couple of hundred metres behind the hospital, and this one's got a flashy new sign outside saying 'Covid quarantine' so they're clearly planning long term.

AFAIK none of the nurses have actually moved into the other two blocks either as they're both new, so they may be keeping those in reserve 😯.

Health Insurance does not cover any expenses if you are asymptomatic, and will not cover any hospital expenses if you have mild or below symptoms ....

It does if you have the mandated insurance.

If you haven't, and you've fudged your entry approval with cheap insurance that's below the minimum required .....
