News Forum - Why plant-based foods are the superior diet ft. Root the Future | Thaiger Podcast Ep.3
As a vegan I feel I should say something here about some of the comments above but I don't want to start another argument/debate on some of the issues mentioned, most of which I have to say are the usual negative comments. Myself and my wife have chosen the way of life we have and we don't force our opinions on others. Having said the above I am not averse to having a debate as long as it's civil and constructive. -

News Forum - Thai police admit extorting money from Taiwanese actress
I don't think the TRP will be able to wriggle their way out of this one. The story is capturing headlines all over. When I dared to mention in a post some time ago the level of endemic corruption in Thailand I got basically burned at the proverbial stake by the Thai apologists here. These are not just a few rogue police officers. Corruption is rampant in Thailand on all levels. Kids get stopped on their bikes to check for drug abuse and are found most of the time "guilty" of having used some substance. Of course the family will get the offer to pay the corresponding fine to keep them out of jail. My wife and her sister have first hand experience with this practice. Also if you live abroad and need the assistence of the Thai diplomatic missions you can expect having to pay extras for services in a disguised form. For example if you need documents sending or receiving only specific couriers can be used at premium rates. Like I said, corruption is ingrained in the system. -

News Forum - Vegan and vegetarian options in Thai cuisine
Chiang Mai is great for vegetarian and vegan food. Samoeng not so good but we manage ok. We gave up animal stuff about 5 years ago for what might said are 'the usual reasons', ie, animal welfare, health and the environment, not necessaily in that order. -

Used car buying - strategy?
Brand dealers expensive, second hand dealers, risky. I would avoid auctions. I would try Facebook Marketplace, or just ask around to see if any Farangs are selling privately. Check out the notice board in Big C, Pattaya Klang, ground floor, near the toilets'. Often have the odd car and motorbike for sale.
